TOUGH TIMES AHEAD-MUKUND FLEXPACK

Article Abstract:

Mukund Flexpack, which has incurred net loss of Rs0.98 crore in the first seven months of 1998-99, is planning to come out with a rights issue in the ratio of 1:10. The company plans to offer 15 percent Cumulative Convertible Redeemable Preference Shares (CCRPS) of Rs100 each aggregating to Rs5 crore. The proceeds of the issue will be utilised to strengthen the company's capital base(current capital base Rs5 crore). The proposed CCRPS will be converted into 10 equity shares 36 months after allotment. Post conversion, its capital base will increase to Rs9.98 crore. It manufactures flexible packaging products. Its list of products include extrusion lamination products and adhesive lamination products. Elpro International Ltd, the promoter of the firm, holds 52.63 percent equity. It posted a turnover of Rs4.62 crore in the first seven months of 1998-99. (gs)

Article Abstract:

India Glycols Ltd increased its sales to Rs133.03 crore in 1997- 98 against Rs120.60 crore in 1996-97. Its net profit increased to Rs20.13 crore from Rs18.64 crore. The company has recommended a dividend of Rs2 per equity share for 1997-98, which will involve an outgo of Rs6.13 crore. The company has commissioned a Chloro- sulphation project in July 1998 for the production of sodium lauryl ether sulphate. Its Applications Research Centre, for development and testing of performance chemicals, is expected to become operational soon. (khr)
