HCIL MAY BECOME NORSK HYDRO'S FULL SUBSIDIARY

Hydro Coatings India Ltd (HCIL) is likely to become a 100 percent subsidiary of Norsk Hydro (NH). Hydro Coatings of UK holds 74 percent stake and Hydro SNS the rest of the stake in HCIL. NH holds 51 percent stake in Hydro SNS of Chennai. It produces coil coatings from high performance polyesters to plastisol and polyurethane. Its facility is in Bangalore. HCIL exports 65 percent of its products. It plans to launch coil coated sheet metal for construction in India. (rk)

Icra has given MAAA (SO) rating to the Rs65 crore non-convertible debenture (NCD) programme of EI DuPont India Ltd and A1+ rating to the company's Rs45 crore commercial paper. Both the ratings indicate highest safety. The NCD programme has been guaranteed by EI DuPont de Nemours and Co of the US. (khr)
