Implementing corporate strategy: from Tableaux de Bord to Balanced Scorecards

Article Abstract:

Companies can have difficulty developing and implementing corporate strategy. Two useful tools are the Tableau de Bord and the Balanced Scorecard. A Tableau de Bord gives managers indicators against which they can monitor how the company is progressing. Numerous Tableau are needed to cover each manager's role. The Balanced Scorecard also gives indicators of the company's performance, with each indicator linking in to the corporate strategy. These two tools are more useful than just looking at financial performance.
