Individual differences and expatriate assignment effectiveness: the case of U.S.-based Korean expatriates

Article Abstract:

A survey of U.S. based Korean expatriates investigated the relationships among their individual differences, assignment effectiveness, and cross-cultural adjustment. results indicate that the level of the expatriates' adjusment the assignment is not associated with their premature return intention. The impacts of the Korean culture on the expatriates' adjustment skills are discussed.

Social capital among corporate upper echelons and its impacts on executive promotion in Korea

Article Abstract:

The role of social capital among managers of Korean firms on their potential for promotion is analyzed. Findings showed that both the internal and external components of social capital are positively related to executive promotion. The contextual factors that moderate the impacts of social capital on executive promotion are also discussed.

The effects of culture and life stage on workplace strategies of upward influence: a comparison of Thailand and the United states

Article Abstract:

The effect of life stage, that is age group, of managers on workplace strategies is analyzed based on a comparison between the managers in early adulthood and middle adulthood. Managers from Thailand and United States were used for the purpose of study, which also indicates the impact of culture and age factor on these strategies.
