Industrial policy and politics

Article Abstract:

Simple constitutional guidelines for industrial policies which consider both the inefficiencies of the political system and the incompleteness of the regulating agencies' information, are developed. The approach is employed in the regulation of natural monopolies with a two-type political system with the majority rule. The effects of policies such as public ownership or privatization on cost-reimbursement and pricing are compared.
