Information technology

Article Abstract:

The increasingly closer links between information and communications technologies offer a good opportunity for companies to assess and improve some key business operations. Managers must play an active role in developing new communication strategies for their company, and must ensure that partnerships are established with both information technology and telecommunications. The information superhighway

Article Abstract:

The information superhighway has not yet become reality in the UK, but businesses must be aware that it is only a matter of time before it does so. They should be particularly concerned about the possible impact of the information which will be transmitted over the information superhighway. Providers of information will be directly connected with consumers worldwide, although it will be some time before the necessary equipment becomes generally available.

Bluff your way to greatness

Article Abstract:

Small companies can appear more efficient and dynamic if they invest in new technology, such as desktop computers which can send faxes, computer network and telephony integration and a structured cabling system which enables staff to participate in videoconferencing, or make use of ISDN telephone links. Being on the Internet allows customers to contact the company directly and this can be used by all the company employees on the network.
