Innovation and investment under financial constraints and product market competition

Article Abstract:

A theoretical analysis of the implications of financial leverage of investment and the product market trend of leveraged companies and their competitors show that their behavioral patterns depend on how they strategically interact on the product market. Financial constraints and some assumptions needed for the analysis were also presented. Moreover, an optimal contract and an analysis of the the behavior of the industry in the presence of financial constraints were introduced from which two informational structures were distinguished.
