Article Abstract:

Living conditions are poor for the Palestinians living in camps in the Gaza Strip. Israeli bombings are common, as is the shooting of teenagers who throw rocks at soldiers. Conditions have become even worse since Israel closed its borders to workers in occupied territories.

Anti-immigrant feelings are high in western Europe, fueled in part by a fear of immigrants from the east. Poverty in other developing countries is also pushing people towards western Europe. The response has been red-tape in the citizenship process and overt racism.
