Interpersonal stress reactions and service quality responses among hospitality industry employees

Article Abstract:

A major issue which is being recognized in human resource management is work stress. The hospitality industry is beginning to address service quality issues important in successful operations. Interpersonal conflict work stress response were analyzed in relation to approaches to service quality issues among hospitality industry employees in Australia. Findings show that the personal service quality is the single predictor of the work role stress response. Management service quality was the predictor of the better management communication stress response.

The occupational role of gravediggers: a service occupation in acute decline

Article Abstract:

The occupational role of gravediggers is studied to determine whether the occupation is declining. Research evidence and surveys reveal that gravedigging has declined in social status because of public perception that the occupation is usually undertaken by uneducated and idiotic individuals. The practice has also suffered a decline due to the introduction of methods for space-saving disposal of the dead such as cremation.

Employment decline in the UK architecture and surveying sectors

Article Abstract:

The 1990-1992 recession in UK's construction industry and the unstable market for professional property services are the cause of the recent employment decline and restructuring in the country's architecture and surveying sector. The marked reduction in workload for the construction industry have resulted into lower levels of work for architecture and surveying companies, with dramatic decline in turnover and profits.
