Iraqi emigres burden region

Article Abstract:

Iraqi refugees have led a slow exodus to Syria and Jordan since the United States invasion, estimated at approximately a million people. The refugees are a cross section of Iraqi society, straining diplomatic relations and slowing reconstruction efforts in Iraq.

Play a simple melody and the Japanese will board the train

Article Abstract:

Takahito Sakurai composes the short tunes that are broadcast in Japan's rail and subway stations to signal incoming and outgoing trains. These compositions, which are no longer than seven seconds, are the result of Mr. Sakurai's research of Japanese locales.

U.S. gets Security Council to back request on Iraq: unanimous vote is only partial triumph for Washington

Article Abstract:

The United Nations Security Council has been convinced by the U.S. to ask foreign government to provide troops and money to the reconstruction of Iraq. The council voted unanimously in favor of the U.S. request.
