Tories are claiming that the last 17 years of Conservative Party economic reform has helped to boost the United Kingdom's economy above those of other large continental European countries. The Labor Party, on the other hand, claims that the reforms have hurt the country's prosperity.

Police in Britain are concerned that Tories there want to partially privatize the force as they have other public sector entities. The Tories deny this publicly, but privately they are known to be disgruntled that crime has continued to rise despite increased spending on police.

Those troubled Tories: good or bad, EMU is a poor issue over which to split

Article Abstract:

Whether or not to join the European Monetary Union is an issue that could split Britain's Tory Party. Ironically, such a split could result in a Labour majority, which would actually increase the probability that Britain will join the EMU.
