KERALA SOAPS LOOKS TO AFRICA FOR TURNAROUND

Article Abstract:

Kerala State Industrial Enterprises Ltd's two subsidiaries are focusing on the African markets to turnaround. The two subsidiaries - Kerala Soaps and Oils Ltd (KSO) and Kerala State Detergents and Chemicals Ltd (KSDC) - plan to introduce a soap and detergent brand each. The companies will be introducing Thrill, a soap brand for meeting the demands of the market, and Super Score, a detergent brand that can be used for both manual and machine wash. KSO and KSDC hopes to earn more from exports with Africa contributing to a major part of the export earnings. KSO has secured a 20 tonne trial order from Angola. The order is worth Rs4 lakh. (ag)

Hindustan Liver Limited (HLL) recently launched the Vim Detergent Bar Challenge campaign in Mumbai city. As a part of the campaign, HLL distributed over 37,600 Vim dishwash bars free of cost. The campaign was to highlight the superior grease removing and cleaning properties of the product. The Vim dishwash brand is the single largest selling dishwash brand in India. The 400 gram pack is priced at Rs10 and the 200 gram pack at Rs5.25. (uh) (gs)

HLL LOWERS PRICES OF DETERGENTS

Article Abstract:

Hindustan Lever Ltd (HLL) has slashed its detergent prices by around 25 paise to Rs2 on packets weighing over 200 gms. The move is aimed at boosting sales volume. The budget has announced a reduction in the excise duty from 18 percent to 16 percent on detergent powder. HLL has reduced the prices of only soaps as it comes under the maximum retail price valuation cover. (um)(vr)
