Investor Kirk Kerkorian has made a cash offer to purchase the Chrysler Group from automobile firm DaimlerChrysler AG for $4.5 bil, a deal that would also offer United Auto Workers significant equity as a means for reducing health care costs for hourly employees.

Exxon's $8.4 billion net faces fire on all fronts
