Khan's victory

Article Abstract:

Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front leader Khan led a large group of unarmed militants over the Indian border in an effort to gain autonomy for Kashmir, which was given to India in the 1949 ceasefire agreement. Pakistan supports the Kashmiri bid for independence, and Khan managed to get international attention.

Caught in the middle

Article Abstract:

Pakistan is in a difficult situation as it supports US plans for a military response against Afghanistan following the terrorist attacks on the US. Pakistan could benefit from its solidarity with the US, but there are very real risks of riots and political instability in Pakistan.
