Kremlin blocks Siemens purchase

Article Abstract:

Siemens AG of Germany has been blocked from acquiring OAO Power Machines of Russia on grounds of unfair competition by Russian authorities. The German electronics company could have been involved in defense contracts and had access to state secrets. There is concerns of a Cold War technocracy amidst a tightening of control by Russian authorities over vital business interests and reflection on foreign investment.
