LG Soft India is likely to take to acquisition route for growth in India. It is a fully owned subsidiary of LG Electronics of Korea. It plans to buy software companies engaged in enterprise resource planning, electronic commerce, Internet applications and telecom software in Bangalore. It is likely to receive $4-5 million from a foreign venture capital fund for acquisition of software companies. LG Soft India distributes LG Phenom, flat screen liquid crystal display monitors, internet television and Eudora e-mail software. (rk)(psr)

RPG BIDS FOR TEA ESTATE IN INDONESIA

Article Abstract:

The RPG group has made a bid to acquire a tea estate in Indonesia through group company, Harrisons Malayalam Ltd. It has made a $20- 25 million bid to acquire part of a large estate controlled by a government firm called PTPN IV. The estate, which also has other crops like cocoa and oil palm, is being privatised through a global tendering process. The RPG group plans to acquire only the tea plantations in the estate in the Indonesian government agrees to it. (khr)
