Kodak plans to sell unit to German printing giant

Article Abstract:

Eastman Kodak Co. is expecting to sell its office-imaging unit to Heidelberg Druckmaschinen AG, a printing company based in Germany. Kodak is expecting to sell the unit for approximately $200 million. The deal is linked to Kodak's planned introduction of a high-end digital copier, the Kodak DigiSource 9110. Heidelberg is the largest manufacturer of printing machinery in the world. The new copier will belong to Heidelberg once the transaction is completed.

Xerox buys French maker of high-speed printers

Article Abstract:

Xerox Corp. has purchased SET Electronique for an undisclosed amount. SET is a manufacturer of high-speed digital printers based in France. The deal is a strategic move by Xerox to enhance its presence in the high-end digital products industry. SET produces printers that have a Hitachi engine and that can print up to 200 to 1,000 pages every minute with a continuous paper feed.
