Linde Technoplyn invests

Article Abstract:

Linde Technoplyn (LT) (Prague, Czech Republic), industrial gas company, will invest more than 0.5 bil Kc at the metallurgy firm Trinecke zelezarny (TZ) (Trinec, Czech Republic). The investment is intended to ensure complete industrial gas supply for TZ. LT will also take over all the employees of TZ's subsidiary Energetika Trinec (Trinec, Czech Republic) who have been attending to the particular equipment so far. The total output of the air separation and oxygen production equipment LT has at TZ is 180 mil cu mt of oxygen and 215 mil cu mt of nitrogen per year. During 1991-1999 LT invested more than 6 bil Kc in the Czech Republic. In 1999 the company generated a turnover over 2.5 bil Kc and had more than 600 employees. LT is part of the concern Linde (Germany).

Skoda Auto invests

Article Abstract:

Skoda Auto (SA) (Mlada Boleslav, Czech Republic), car company, plans to invest 15 bil Kc in 2000. That is why the firm will not pay dividends for 1999. SA saw a net profit of 2.64 bil Kc in 1999. The firm's proceeds totalled 110.4 bil Kc in 1999. The company produced a total of 385,000 cars in 1999. About 80% of the cars were exported, mainly to the West European markets.

Kimberly-Clark invests in the Czech Republic

Article Abstract:

Kimberly-Clark (KC) (US), hygienic supplies manufacturer, will invest 25 mil Kc to increase its production capacities in the Czech Republic in 2000. The investment will enable the firm to double the capacity of its production plant in Jaromer, the Czech Republic. The plant produces baby diapers and further hygienic paper goods. The investment will set up 150 new jobs.
