Locating least-distant lines in the plane

Article Abstract:

The line-location problem was addressed, specifically with regards to finding a line that would reduce existing facilities overall weighted distances. One of the lines that would reduce the weighted distances of facilities was found to contain at least two of the existing facilities. The possibility of finding an optimal line parallel to one part of existing facilities' convex hull was established provided that all weights are equal.

Fuzzy sharing problem by possibility measure

Article Abstract:

A model was formulated to resolve a sharing problem with integer flow. The model presents the fuzzy goal to the problem being studied and regards the weight of every sink as fuzzy goal's possibility variables. It is a max-min type that optimizes the least possibility measure of the fuzzy goal involving sinks. An algorithm that takes advantage of the relationship between the flux and the possibility measure was utilized.

A constrained nonlinear 0-1 program for data collection

Article Abstract:

A linearization- and subgradient optimization-based algorithm was created to address the problem of data allocation involving a global database and a general communication network. The algorithm showed efficiency in creating productive allocations, in terms of cost and performance. It also runs about two orders of magnitude faster than a widely used commercial integer programming code.
