Logica buys FCC Folprecht

Article Abstract:

FCC Folprecht (Czech Republic), software firm, was bought by the international company Logica as of 31 December 1998. The price of the transaction was 315 mil Kc. FCC Folprecht's operation will be connected with the activities of Logica's Czech branch under the name of Logica (Czech Republic). Logica will now have a base in the Czech Republic to expand to other Central European markets. FCC Folprecht saw proceeds of more than 551 mil Kc and a profit of about 16 mil Kc from common activities in 1998. FCC Folprecht is involved mainly in the implementation and development of the company information system SAP, the consumer development of software and system integration. The company has 270 employees and regional branches in Brno, Hradec Kralove, Ostrava, Plzen and Usti-nad-Labem, all in the Czech Republic.

Joint venture: Continental - Matador Puchov

Article Abstract:

Matador (Puchov, Slovakia), tyre manufacturer, will increase the capacity of its lorry radial tyre production to 1.5 mil pieces per year by 2001. The firm will be able to extend its production to nearly 2 mil pieces per year after the increase. The company's capacity is 0.4-0.5 mil pieces of the tyres per year at the beginning of 1999. Matador will increase its capacity due to the setting up of a joint venture resident in Puchov, Slovakia. The joint venture has a majority stake held by the concern Continental (Hannover, Germany). Matador, which has 3,600 employees involved in lorry tyre production at the beginning of 1999, saw a turnover of 512 mil DEM in 1997. The company's profit amounted to 9.7 mil DEM in 1997.

Continental buys from Matador Puchov

Article Abstract:

Matador (Puchov, Slovakia), tyre manufacturer, has sold its plant to the concern Continental (Hannover, Germany). Continental has orderred granulated black transport equipment at Buehler (Uzwil, Switzerland) for the plant. The equipment should transport nearly 20 t per hour at a distance of 150 mt. The system has the trade name Fluid-Schub-Flex-System and ensures safety transport without dustiness. The equipment should be commissioned at end 1H 2000.
