UDV REVISES OFFER FOR POLYCHEM'S IDI STAKE

United Distillers & Vintners (UDV), a liquor producer, plans to revise the offer price for acquiring Polychem's stake in International Distillers (India) Ltd (IDI). It had earlier offered Rs625 per share to Polychem, its partner in IDI, for buying its 35 percent stake in the company. UDV's revision of the offer is due to the delay in securing the approval of the Foreign Investment Promotion Board for the proposed sale of shares by Polychem. (ag)

International Distillers (ID) proposes to buy the 35 percent stake of Polychem in it. The proposal of Polychem to sell its stake in ID is now before the Cabinet Committee on Foreign Investment (CCFI) of the Government of India. The Polychem application has been pending before the Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB) for about a year. ID makes liquors. (uh)
