Make way for Indonesians in Singapore

Article Abstract:

Singaporean financial authorities are worried about the growing number of Indonesian investments in the country that in some way threatens the stability of the Singaporean financial markets. The big problem in Indonesian investments is the Indonesian investors, whose training in Indonesia's rough financial markets is inappropriate to the relatively placid Singaporean market. Indonesians have been known for aggressive takeovers and many Indonesians planning a management takeover have been found to have pending cases overseas which places questions on their business integrity.

Overseas Chinese networks challenged

Article Abstract:

The advent of the Internet and electronic commerce (e-commerce) are providing the greatest challenge ever to 'borderless' overseas Chinese commerce, particularly in the Asian markets. The Internet, which espouses the concept of direct marketing to the end users, is challenging the dominance of this population group that has long prospered as traditional middlemen. The greatest beneficiary of the Internet revolution may yet be the overseas Indians who have no traditional bias in terms of services.
