Managers say: stay cool to ride the Nikkei's waves

Article Abstract:

Stock analysts advise investors to remain cautious and focus on the shares of a select few stable manufacturers following a broad-based rally in the Tokyo stock exchange. Blue-chip manufacturers, such as Toyota, Honda and Hitachi, can weather slowdowns in the Japanese economy because of their huge exports. Investors, however, should try to buy shares of slightly lower-profile exporters as most blue-chip manufacturer's shares have become increasingly expensive. Sharp Corp., a leading maker of liquid-crystal displays and Ricoh Co., a leader in color copiers and printers are two guaranteed best buys.

Undervalued shares are the way to go as Tokyo market stabilizes, analysts say

Article Abstract:

The stabilizing Tokyo stock market has made foreigners increase buying activity for shares being offered by Japanese investors. The Nikkei Index is projected to maintain its average for the next semester, with extremes set at a low of 16,000 to a high of 19,000, and registered a closing week at 18,120.73, representing a 2% increase. The market boom has been attributed primarily to the surge in foreign investment.
