Manila fund alters palette

Article Abstract:

Closed-end equity fund Indosuez Manila Fund is adding variety to its securities holdings by concentrating on mid-cap firms and private equity. Under the leadership of Ray Jovanovich, the entity has been performing exceedingly well and is even considered as the leading equity fund in the Philippines. To assure its continuous growth, Jovanovich plans to look for more new investments in the country's other islands such as Mindanao and the Visayas.

National Mutual enters field

Article Abstract:

National Mutual Funds Management recently expanded its National Mutual Asian Select Funds umbrella with the launching of its Hong Kong and China Growth Fund. The new fund intends to gain exposure to the economies of both Hong Kong and China by investing in a well-balanced portfolio of assets from the two markets. It will allocate about 60% of its assets to Hong Kong blue-chip issues and a maximum of 40% to stocks listed in China.

Malaysian fund reckons it's time to take profit

Article Abstract:

Pheim Asset Management CEO Tan Chong Koay believes that a buy-and-hold strategy is not appropriate for Malaysia's volatile market. Tan states that investors need to bet on the sharp swings of the market if they are to succeed in Malaysia. He also believes that investors should start taking in their profits as there are very few undervalued stocks remaining in the Malaysian market today.
