Marketing turnarounds

Article Abstract:

BMW has successfully boosted sales in the US following a 45% drop in over five years. The company pursued a strategy which reviewed pricing, product range, advertising and dealer network, and which resulted in a 58% rise in sales between 1991 and 1994 to 84,500 units. By 1997, sales are forecast to total 100,000 units. Details of how Northern Telecom's Norstar also turned its business around are included, along with lessons to be learnt from both examples.
