Absorptive capacity and connectedness: Why competing firms also adopt identical R & D approaches

A study, examining the need to adopt identical research and development (R&D) approaches, is presented. It is observed that, competing firms choose identical research and development approaches, in order to connect with their research and development environment and maximize absorptive capacities.

Cooperative and noncooperative R&D in experimental duopoly markets

Article Abstract:

Using the model of d'Asperemont and Jacquemin, a study on the relationship between technological spillovers and research and development cooperation in a duopoly experiment is presented. For scenarios without and with full spillovers, two noncooperative treatments are run.
