Mentos' blistering finish

Article Abstract:

Cossette Media won Best of Show at the Media Innovation Awards (MIA) in 2007. Since the MIA's inception in 2000, it has won the award five times. This year's award was for the company's 'Make Art Pop' campaign for Perfetti's new Mentos Gum. The campaign featured three 10-second TV spots that included artwork decorated with blister packs. A total of 73 awards were awarded in the event.

Genesis Media was acquired by Aegis Media on October 25, 2007, ending its status as an independent media shop. Genesis experienced billings growth of around 35%, however, it continued to suffer loss on total billings to market leaders. The possible impacts of the takeover on the Canadian media industry are disucssed.
