Mezzanine: refusing to be overshadowed

Article Abstract:

Some financial experts perceive that mezzanine finance is under threat from high yield bonds. However, the two solutions usually compliment one another rather than present conflicting options. Mezzanine finance may not be as popular as it was at the beginning of the 1990s, when there was no high yield bond market, but it continues to be a significant instrument due to its lower costs, liquidity, and the rights it offers to investors. It continues to be important in deals below 75 million pounds sterling where it often works between equity and senior debt.
