Milo with a loss
Article Abstract:
Milo (Olomouc, Czech Republic), oil seed processor and vegetable fat and oil producer, saw a loss of about 139.4 mil Kc in 1998. The firm generated a loss of 52.4 mil Kc in 1997 compared to a net profit of 68.34 mil Kc in 1996. The main reason for the growth of the 1998 loss was the financial crisis in the former USSR, which is one of the firm's main export territories. Milo had an owned capital of 1.16 bil Kc and a stock of 812.15 mil Kc at the end of 1998. The company's bank credits were 2.95 bil Kc at the end of 1998. Milo together with the canning companies Seliko (Olomouc, Czech Republic) and Nealko (Olomouc, Czech Republic) is a member of the food products group Milo Holding (Olomouc, Czech Republic).

Senior invests in Olomouc

Senior (UK), thin-walled flexible tube manufacturer, will invest EUR 5.4 mil in the construction of a new plant in Olomouc, the Czech Republic, by 2001. The plant will have 200 employees after its completion. Senior's thin-walled tubes are intended mainly for the automotive and aircraft industries.
