A note on the behavior of the insureds in auto-insurance systems in Turkey

Article Abstract:

An analysis of the relationship between the class of bonus-malus system, accident frequency and insureds' decison process was undertaken in the context of Turkish auto-insurance system. The relationship analysis revealed that there is no such heuristic rule that will effectively explain bonus-malus systems and accident causing propensities. The feasibility of modeling a more advanced budget constrained mechanism under general cases rather than a particular Turkish case was established.
