Models for multi-echelon repairable item inventory systems with limited repair capacity

Article Abstract:

The Multi-Echelon Technique for Recoverable Item Control (METRIC) model is an exact and approximate analytical model that can be utilized to deal with compound-Poisson demands, wear-out processes, cannibalism and lateral resupply. Application of the METRIC model for the utilization of limited repair facilities was more effective compared to traditional methods. Furthermore, the model underestimates the expected value and variance of the number in repair at the depot and ignore queueing effects.
