Article Abstract:

A study reviews a profit maximizing monopolistic firm that sets prices with insufficient information about the demand for its products. Solutions are derived by applying a defuzzification strategy that explicitly takes into account the firm's attitude towards deviations of actual demand from its most possible values.

On the application of stochastic models in nuclear power plant maintenance

Article Abstract:

The direct applicability of stochastic methods in determining the maintenance policies of containment air locks and transfer chambers in nuclear power plants is demonstrated. The application is kept relatively simple and clear so as to be understood by staff not familiar with stochastic methods.
