More flexible office location controls and public transport considerations: a case study of the city of Manchester

Article Abstract:

It is suggested that the Use Classes Order should be amended in order to effectively implement new locational policies. New policies have been developed in order to address increasing concern over rising traffic and continuing trends in the development of offices in suburban locations, rather than in town centres, served by public transport. The report considers the type and location of major office developments in the city of Manchester between 1985 and 1993.
