Several concepts concerning preference relations between closed intervals are unified under a general framework to simplify solutions to linear programming problem with interval coefficients in the objective function based on the preference relations. The concepts and solution methods are extensions of those proposed by H. Ishihuchi, M. Tanaka., H. Rommelfanger, R. Hanscheck and J. Wolf.

A performance measurement-modeling framework is developed to examine the pollution prevention activities and environmentally safe interactions of a printed circuit board manufacturing facility.
