Multiobjective transportation network design and routing problems: taxonomy and annotation

Article Abstract:

The review of literature regarding multiobjective research on transportation network design and routing problems has been updated. Forty one articles have been annotated to update the 1986 annotation by Current and Min. In addition, the 'transportation problem' category has been generalized, the 'generalized network problem' category has been removed, and the 'spanning tree problem' and 'network flow problems' categories have been added.

Optimal routing in a transportation network

Article Abstract:

The problem of finding an optimal route in a transportation network is studied by means of a geometric graph model. The model is used in conjunction with an 80486 microcomputer to devise a routing program for the Polish railway network. Results indicate that the model is very useful for determining the optimum route for the network with respect to the starting and ending points of the journey and the kind of train used.
