My Wal-Mart 'tis of thee

Article Abstract:

Wal-Mart Supercenters present a fascinating insight into modern society in the US. They bring together people from many different backgrounds and promote a range of values, including purchasing US-made goods, recycling and striving for satisfaction. They juxtapose fitness and gluttony and freedom and controls. It is possible to buy a gun relatively easily in a Wal-Mart store, for example, but the music on sale in these stores is often censored.
