NALCO PAYS RS 128.86-CR DIVIDEND

Article Abstract:

The National Aluminium Company Ltd (Nalco) has paid dividend of Rs128.86 crore for 1997-98. This is 25 percent more than what it paid during 1996-97. The dividend paid works out to 10 percent of paid-up capital. This amounts to 23.56 percent of the profit after tax of Rs546.93 crore. The company showed turnover of Rs1,854 crore during 1997-98. The book value of Nalco per share increased from Rs23.05 to Rs26.21. The earnings per share also rose from Rs3.82 to Rs4.24. (um)

NALCO NON-CONVERTIBLE DEBENTURE

Article Abstract:

Icra has given an LAAA rating, indicating highest safety, to the Rs644 crore secured redeemable non-convertible debenture (NCDs) programme of National Aluminium Company Ltd. The company is restructuring its equity and 50 percent of its existing equity base of Rs128 crore will be converted into NCDs carrying a coupon rate of 14.5 percent. (khr)
