BAYER RECORDS 8.6% INCREASE IN SALES

Bayer India Ltd (BIL), a company having presence in rubber chemicals and pharmaceuticals, has posted 8.6 percent rise in its sales to Rs525 crore during 1998 (Rs483 crore during 1997). During the period, the net profit grew by two percent to Rs10.03 crore (Rs9.84 crore). The company proposes to offer dividend of 25 percent for 1998. (ag)(psr)

NEULAND LABORATORIES POSTS Rs1.95-CR NET

Article Abstract:

Neuland Laboratories posted a net profit of Rs1.95 crore during the first half of 1998-99. It has increased exports to the US. It has secured ISO 9002 certification and US-FDA approval for its unit which manufactures salbutamol sulphate. It has applied to the US-FDA for approval for marketing ranitidine in the US. (vv)
