Netherlands: Cap Gemini fined after IT legal battle

Article Abstract:

Cap Gemini, a Dutch software company, has been fined after a legal battle brought in 1987 by Kerken in Nood (KIN, Churches in Need) when Cap Genii had failed to complete its contract. Cap Gemini signed a contract to automate KIN's fund management system in 1985 but was still not in complete by 1987. Cap Gemini must pay Fl 2.14mn in damages and interest back dated to 1988 totaling Fl 2.3mn.

Netherlands: Nursery agreement attempt fails

Article Abstract:

Attempts by unions and employers to keep collective work agreement talks, for the Dutch nursery and child care sector, afloat have failed. The parties were unable to agree on pay rises. Some 5,000 employees in the sector are expected to take action on 11 December 2001.
