New York fighting fund

Article Abstract:

Helicopter operators based in New York are giving a voluntary minimum donation of $10 to the Eastern Regional Helicopter Council every time they use a heliport in the area. The collected money serves as a common fund for their fight against efforts of the New York City Council and other local authorities to limit helicopter access. The campaign to restrict flights at heliports began when the City Council began receiving consistent public complaints of helicopters hovering near high-rise apartment windows.
