Noise mitigation

Article Abstract:

Edwards and Kelcey (EK) has been commissioned by Martha's Vineyard Commision of Massachusetts to implement a noise mitigation program as a proactive measure to address the island community's increasing concerns about the impact of local aircraft noise. EK has also been tasked to analyze aircraft parking options for Boston-Logan International's North cargo area and to prepare engineering design plans. The company is expected to finish the design by Aug 2000.

Observing the weather

Article Abstract:

Qualimetrics will supply 22 Automated Weather Observing System (AWOS) stations to Kuwait's Directorate General of Civil Aviation. The AWOS is made up of oceonographic, agrometeorological, climatic and synoptic instruments that would be located across Kuwait. The 22 units will report on the weather to a central station through UHF radio and microwave link. Each AWOS is equipped with a Q-Net data logger for the collection and dissemination of weather data.

A clean shot for Cyclone

Article Abstract:

The Phoenix-Sky Harbor International Airport has awarded a contract to Cyclone Surface Cleaning Inc to implement ramp cleaning and runway rubber removal. Cyclone was able to secure the contract because airport officials were impressed with its rubber and grease removal equipment that incorporates a self-cleaning reclamation and water filtration system. The airport had previously used a large shot blasting machine to clean its runways.
