King Bhumipol Adulyadej has appointed Anand Panyarachun to be Thailand's prime minister following the resignation of Suchinda Kraprayoon.Anand was prime minister before, and has a reputation for clean, efficient government. His reign is expected to last only until new elections can be organized.
