Telecom Italia revenue could fall this year

Article Abstract:

Telecom Italia SpA officials anticipate a lower revenue for 1998 owing from a likely decision by regulators to reduce the prices it charges other operators for utilizing its network. However, the officials, who requested anonymity, expect no decline in revenue in subsequent years because Telecom's three-year plan assumes rates that are in line with the requisites of the European Union. Although no cost estimates were cited, a Telecom Italia executive expect the decrease in revenue to be slight.
