Modeling acts of aggression and dominance as wife abuse and exploring their adverse health effects

Article Abstract:

An examination of data compiled by the Canadian Violence Against Women Survey demonstrated the reliability of modeling acts of aggression as causal indicators of forms of wife abuse and their adverse effects on women's health that include physical injuries, psychopathology, alterations to the psyche, anger, drug and alcohol use. The extremity of health problems is dependent on the frequency of the abuse, the nature of the abuse and whether it occurred during pregnancy.

Charities

Article Abstract:

The income of the UK voluntary sector rose by 3% in real terms in the period 1994 to 1997 to 13.1 billion pounds sterling, with charitable donations accounting for around 38%. Medical and health related charities, general welfare charities and international aid agencies together account for 63% of the top 500 charities' voluntary income. There is growing competition between charities for donations, and this is prompting a more aggressive approach to advertising.

Oops! Ex-renaissance sculpture

Article Abstract:

Art historians have decided the marble statue on the tomb of Guidarelli was probably made in the 1820s and is not the work of Renaissance artist Tullio Lombardo. The statue shows metal boots, a helmut without a visor, and spurs incongruent with Guidarelli's lifetime.
