Oracle Profit Slips 2.1% on costs tied to PeopleSoft acquisition

Oracle Corp. of the United States posted a 2.1 percent fall in profit to $798 million from $815 million (last year) in the second quarter. And a 19 percent increase in revenue to $3.29 billion from $2.76 billion, a year earlier. The earnings report suggests further costs associated with the PeopleSoft Inc. acquistion and possible slowdown of the software companies core database interest.

Oracle's net jumps 42% as deals increase revenue

Oracle Corp. of the United States posted soaring third quarter net profit, up 42 percent to $765 million from $540 million last year. Revenue rose to $3.47 billion from $2.95 billion last year. Revenue increases at the software giant were due to recent acquisitions.
