Oral hygiene products in Spain

Article Abstract:

Retail sales of oral hygiene products through Spain's mass-market retailers amounted to some 19.0 billion Spanish pesetas in 1997, with a further 20% through pharmacies giving a total market of 23.8 billion Spanish pesetas. Imports of oral hygiene products for the year reached 11.6 billion Spanish pesetas, with exports amounting to 5.4 billion Spanish pesetas. The multinationals Colgate-Palmolive, Henkel Iberica and Elida Faberge account for around 80% of retail sales. It is predicted that Spain's oral hygiene products market will continue its vigorous growth.

Chocolate products and turron in Spain

Article Abstract:

Chocolate and chocolate product productions was down 6.8% in 1997, with exports rising faster than imports. Turrone and marzipan-based confectionary production was 34,000 tons in 1996 and exports mostly to Latin american and the Hispanic communities in the US represent around 10% of production. Soluble or drinking chocolate represents around half of the total consumption and chocolate spreads are important.

Womenswear in Spain

Article Abstract:

Production turnover in Spain for made-up clothes amounted to some 848.67 billion pesetas in 1999, with knitwear production totalling 315.22 billion pesetas. Womenswear accounts for around 50% of total turnover.
