Outbound supply chain network design with mode selection, lead times and capacitated vehicle distribution centers

Article Abstract:

A design for an outbound supply chain network is presented duly considering lead times, location of facilities and transportation modes. The design is based on Lagrangian heuristics. It may be noted that one method of measuring customer satisfaction is through the lead times. The design also minimizes fixed costs of facility location and transportation costs with the given constraints.

Managing inventories in a two-echelon dual-channel supply chain

Article Abstract:

A study of a two-layered dual-channel inventory model is presented. The two supply chains, i.e., the traditional retail store and the Internet-enabled direct channel, are examined. The study analyses one layer of stock maintained at manufacturer's warehouse and the other level of inventory maintained at the retail store.
