Tradepoint discusses Swiss Exchange deal

U.K.'s Tradepoint Financial Networks and Swiss Exchange have entered the phase of merger negotiations. Their combined forces will create a pan-European blue chips market. The conglomerate is likely to be supplemented by Deutsche Boerse's capacity, as the German exchange company is now almost certain to merge with the London Stock Exchange.

With bourse plan, U.K. looks to fortify the City

The London Stock Exchange and the German bourse are expected to merge. This merger is not expected to have an adverse effect on the City, London's financial district, while it is expected to benefit Frankfurt, Germany.
