Article Abstract:

United Kingdom Landscape Institute President Tim Gale points out the Institute has an important role in implementing improvements to the urban and rural environment. He sees the work of the Urban Task Force as vital. Gale is concerned about the lack of investment in public parks as compared to leisure amenities. He suggests the public must be allowed to take part in landscaping decisions. The Institute was set up in 1929, when it was known as the Institute of Landscape Architects. The name was changed in 1978 to recognise the wide range of work undertaken by its 4,500 members,

People three act drama

Article Abstract:

The architectural partnership of Andrzej Blonski and Michael Heard joined with Architect Kutbuddin Nadiadi to design the new theatre and gallery buildings in Milton Keynes, England. They won a competition to design the 30 million pounds sterling complex. Their work has been received enthusiastically by the public and their clients were pleased they kept within the strict budget. Blonski and Heard first worked together in 1967. Heard is planning to retire whilst Nadiadi intends to continue working with Blonski, who will run the practice as the Andrzej Blonski Architects.

Article Abstract:

The four architects working at Buschow Henley undertake extensive research before starting work on their designs. They work closely with their clients to work out the feasibility of the client's ideas and how they can be interpreted to meet planning regulations. The practice is very concerned at how space is utilized. Buschow Henley was started by Ralph Buschow and Simon Henley during 1994, with Gavin Hale-Brown and Ken Rorrison joining the firm a short time later.
