Despite the high cost of oranges, which lowered Pepsi-Cola Co.'s third quarter results, the company's profit forecast remains high, according to new CEO Indra Nooyi . The diversity of Pepsi's portfolio helped mitigate the impact of the higher costs of or anges, transportation, and energy.

Indra K. Nooyi has been appointed the new Chief Executive Officer at PepsiCo Inc. of the United States. In college Ms. Nooyi fronted an all-girl rock band, amongst other endeavours. Ms. Nooyi is succeeding Steve Reinemund at the soft drinks giant.

Coke taps Kent for a new post; CEO race shifts
